Gramatech, a manufacturer of vacuum and heat sealing equipment, was acquired by SECO in 1997. SECO Industries and Gramatech's manufacturing and warehouse operations are housed in a 100,000 square foot facility in Montebello, California.
Originally established to supply protective packaging to the electronics industry, SECO Industries first products played a major role in addressing the problem of " electrostatic discharge " (E.S.D), a major and invisible contributor to computer component failure. The companies innovations in the area of E.S.D protection and in the development and manufacture of products that address other major packaging issues including shock and vibration, polycarbonate compatibility, corrosion, and humidity can be credited with saving the computer industry alone millions of dollars.

Gramatech manufactures a wide variety of vacuum and heat sealing equipment, ranging from portable to large, heavy-duty industrial machines. This range of equipment provides our customers with the flexibility to utilize the appropriate equipment for the greatest efficiency. Gramatech is at the forefront of the vacuum and sealing markets, which we believe is the next horizon in packaging solutions. The vacuum process removes the air, or modifies the internal environment. Using this process many inherent packaging problems are eliminated, such as spoilage, corrosion, or contamination. In addition, this method of packaging reduces bulk and prevents the product from shifting by "locking" it in place. The vacuum process serves to better preserve products and contributes to an overall cleaner packaging environment.
